Okay, ordered it and am eagerly awaiting the arrival of my EZ box. IGAWIGAWIGA!!! Now, the question:

Do I have to disconnect the batteries to install the box to prevent any kind of surge/spike to the ECM or other, or can I just plug this bad boy in when it arrives?

Any help would be appreciated, thanks... ...

zman

Didn't disconnect mine when I installed... . If it was important, the instructions would tell you to disconnect, wouldn't they... Oh well, it seems to be working okay... :D

Thanks for the input, guys. Thought that the instructions might say one way or the other, but since I don't have it yet... .

You know as soon as it comes off of that UPS truck here at work it's going right in and I'm takin' 'er out for a spin!!

Piers was out of stock so I had to wait a few days before they ever got it in the mail to me, been about a week and a half since I ordered it and I'm jones-ing!! WHERE IS IT!!!

One other thing Zman,

Make sure the little green rubber seals on the plugs are pushed on tight before you try putting it on the first time. My very first time one of those fell off, it took me 40 minutes to find it!! Otherwise it's simple to put on and take off.

Enjoy, JRG

Zimman... . Do you know if the connector (female end) that is attached to the connector with green rubber seal has a rubber seal also?? I bought a used unit and the data link has a rubber seal and one of the other connectors has a green seal, but the remaining connector (female end) does not. Should it?? Help??

I'll let you know

As soon as I get it in my hot little hands (shouldn't be more than a day or two more at this point, they supposedly shipped it last Wed. 2/20) I'll surely let ya know!!

Maybe JRG could answer your question?

Your going to love it

Hello

Someone I know real well :D :p :D has one in his truck and one thing I can say is it sure wakes up that engine.

His numbers increased by 20 Hp and more important to him anyway was the Torque went up 158 LBS.

I don't know why except it must be in the way the EZ works, at a recent Dyno run he laid down a 253 Hp and a 629 in Torque. Some other trucks had more Hp but less Torque. I would take the high Torque any day over the HP. Unless I am dead wrong it is the Torque that gets you up and over the hill.

I don't know if it is that the Edge products work with the ECM on the engine that produces the high torque or what. I do not know what type of box the other trucks where running.

If you know the answer please let me know.

See Ya

Chris

Just don't leave it keyed on when you remove the Map plug and you will be fine. If you leave it keyed on and remove the Map plug you will still be fine, but you will have codes and a check engine light.

Thanks to all

Thanks to all for your assist... .....

I will certainly post when I get the EZ installed to advise if I can steer with the family jewels, if ya know what I mean!

Hey Scott/Bigsaint- When are we starting a local chapter, an

NJTDR ? Wonder how many of us there are in the Garden State?

zman

:D :D

Local Chapter

Zman, I agree... the time has come for a NJ Chapter. I'm not sure how many strong we are, but we are more than a few for sure. We just need someone with a little time on his hands to get the ball rolling. That, unfortunately, isn't me. I'm more than willing to provide any back up assistance if you want to take a shot at it though.

Scott W.

Me too

I have the same problem, I'd like to get involved and get one cranked up here in NJ but don't have the time to dedicate to running it right now. Family and all that.....

Anybody else in NJ interested in starting an NJTDR chapter? Got two members for ya right here!! :)

The way the HP torque thing was explained to me is, Torque starts the fun, HP keeps it going. Maybe someone with more in the know than me can explain.
