Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) disconnecting annoying buzzer 96model

hello, maybe someone can help me find a way to disconnect that annoying buzzer the factory puts on these trucks when you stick the key in... any help would be appreciated... thanks alot for suggestions

Not sure of the differences between your 96 and my 02, but I just removed the sensor in the door(plunger switch) and it stopped. I actually did it so it would stop with the door open, but that was a side benefit. I just popped it out, disconnected the wire and put the switch in my glovebox after tucking the wire back in the hole.

you can also take the covers off your steering column and disconnect the wiring harness in there. its four wires. it stops the buzzing when the key is in but the buzzer stays on when the lights are on and the door is open. the light around the key wont light up anymore but i always find the key hole anyways...

to stop the door buzzer i cut one of the 3 wires (can't remember which color) at the door switch on my 96 keeping the dome light working on the other 2 wires
