I'm researching an LED array conversion for taillights. I have a broken taillight out of a 2nd Gen Dodge (the bottom 'filler' section is cracked... the rest of it is fine... ) - so I can hack that to bits and it will become my test-bed.
Some folks on here have done some stuff with LED's and I was wondering if anyone had the following info:
1) What size LED's are you using?
2) What light output (lumens... mcd, etc... . ) are you using?
3) Which voltage are you using? 2 volt?
4) Which viewable angle is most popular?
I don't like the idea of drop in replacement lamps - I'd rather make my own array... .
There are a TON of online places that offer LED's... but I don't know which size, voltage, light output, etc to choose... .
I saw a pic online of a kit to replace the standard incandescent lamps with an array for old F*rd Broncos... . it looked really sweet... and is a huge improvement over just LED drop in lamps...
Thanks in advance,
Matt
