I am thinking about upgrading to 4 wheel disk brakes and would like to know which company sells a good system and anyones thoughts on whether it is worth the cost involved, also if the 4 wheel ABS system will need to be upgraded to compensate for the rear disks.

Thanks ,

As far as I know there is only one company that has a conversion kit-EGR. They are a site sponsor so you can find there number there. It's not cheap.

Did mine with OEM........

You'll find EGR cheap compared to that. I haven't had any problems with the ABS on my 01. Didn't help with my spongy pedal, new lines in the front are probably due for that.

Braking is way better. I can actually stop the beast now.

EGR's kits are only for 2500's, can't tell from your sig if you have one or not.

EGR Brakes

Hi Garry,

I have a set of EGR rear disc brakes on my 1992 W-250. The braking is much improved. I got the SS brake lines, and changed over to DOT 5 brake fluid. The truck stops much better. I think it was worth the money. Glenn at EGR will take care of any troubles you have. If you tow much or plan on keeping your truck for a while, I would invest the money.

Thank you for your reply and sharing your experience with the

EGR conversion. I am planning on keeping my truck at least another 5 or 6 years so it will probably be worth the money invested. I'll call Glenn for an estimate.

See the pics in this album, I did the Rear conv. it was a little pain but after all was done, I am impressed with them.

I also got the slotted front rotors and the Carbon Kevlar pads for the front.
