good pic of truck!

I have a friend who is a mechanic at the local GMC dealer. He told me today that they have suddenly had three Dmax's come in with what appears to be injection pump failure. Alll have had less than 1800 miles on them. I wonder if this is the same pump used on the 03 Cummins and if they have made changes in the pump for the 03 Dmax since he has not seen this problem on the earlier models.

Good question, answer, I need to look at a duramax pump. I am pretty sure the ISBe is using essentially the same fuel system, minus the computers.

From what I understand the D-Max fuel pump runs fine untill you raise rail pressure (some fueling Boxes do this and you end up blowing seals)

It's the Bosch. I thought it was Stanadyne but checked on the Chevy website and they are saying it's a Bosch.

I talked to my GM friend again today and he said it looks to be a pinched wire that caused the problem and not some defect of the Bosch pump. He said the factory tech had diagnosed the problem for them. Hopefully it did not occur in too many trucks.
