Do 3rd gen 5.9 parts interchange with 2nd gen 5.9s ?

I'm looking for an "07" 2500 to replace my 98.5 Dually that got a black eye from an SUV that was on the phone instead of seeing the Stop sign lol. So I'd like to put some of my engine bling on the newer 5.9, specifically my Cummins Valve cover. Is the newer 5.9 a whole different Beast?

Don't quote me but the later 3rd gen 5.9s had an integrated valve cover, A tall plastic valve cover sitting on top of the rocker box, the early 03 04s had a rocker, valve cover both Aluminum then the dressing cap on top. My money is on no it won't swap.
