Also are you guys having issues with you computer not being accurate? Is there a way to reprogram it? It is always reading a couple of mpg too high. My old 555 was much closer to what I would calculate by hand. Also is the jury out on these 600/610 yet and fuel mileage, I can't say at this point having just over 1000 miles on my truck.

Only early 05's with an engine build date before Aug 17 are included. The build date can be found on the white sticker on the drivers side of the valve cover. ;)

The build date for the engine was 11-30-04. So as I understand the TSB does not apply and any "reflash" was built in at the factory. Ok, guess I will have to wait till she is broke in and hope for the best. How accurate are everyones computers on the reflashed 600/610s? I know, I know its been beat to death just a couple of responses with do.

Are you guys getting accurate fuel milage readings from the overhead after having the reflash? Are you getting accurate readings in trucks built after the TSB for reflash?

I have not had a reflash done, not sure if I even qualify or not, I didn't order my pickup till the end of September, so I am guessing my engine was built sometime after August 15. Anyhow, my over head usually reads 17. 5, but actual hand calculations are only 16. 5, so it is about 1 mile per gallon off. it is pretty consistant sometimes it is 17, and I come up with 16 hand calculated. The pickup is a 4x4.

Ok guys, sorry to beat a dead horse, but I am looking at grabbing an 04 or 04. 5 real soon and would like to know some mileage numbers.

Does anyone have a QD cab 4x4 6spd with 3. 73's? The truck I am looking at has 9200 miles and the guy says he thinks he is getting about 16mpg. I am hoping this will climb a bit more to 18mpg. At how many miles should the engine be considered broken in? Any info out there?

Since the reflash, my overhead is within . 5 of calculated. On a long trip calculated = overhead. It has been about two months since the reflash.

I am getting up to 21 MPG empty with that combo and 9. 5 - 10. 5 towing my 5er. Milage was about 2 MPG less driving empty before the reflash.

Alan,

What is your build date on the engine? 4x4 or 4x2, auto/manual? Long bed or short, Quad or Reg?... ... and finally what average mpg and where?

I had a 2004. 5 for a year and seen good increases in mpg after the winter blended fuel was out, when the reflash was done, and when the mileage hit about 14k

I was getting a strong steady 20 to 21 mpg highway empty at 70mph when traded for an 05 to get a 6 speed and a short wheel base and I just completed a 600 mile highway trip empty cruising at an average of 70 and was getting 14. 4 to 15. 5 which is on winter blend fuel and is 2. 5 mpg higher than I was getting on my 04. 5 when it was new a year ago about this time so, I am fairly confident this truck will get at least 20 when the winter blended fuel ends and I get a few miles on the engine.

hope this helps. I found staying under 70 made a significant difference in cruising mileage and have gotten used to this speed now. must have something to do with the the wind resistance i guess.
