i am thinking of buying a 2015 2500 which doesn't have the cold weather group. Does this truck have the block heater already installed as in the past like my 2005? Buying and routing a cord is no big deal but I don't want to buy the heater and then have to install it.

But..... they may or may not have to power cord. The plug is a little hard to find the first time, it is tucked up by the passenger side tow hook, there is a cap over the plug, so do try feeling for the prongs.

All have the heater installed in the block. I bought this one from Genos. It is good, but don't use the plastic clamp that holds the plug onto the block heater side.

instead, get a $2 metal radiator hose clamp to hold it on to the block heater. Works great! And looks clean.

Look at the silly plastic clamp provided at 10:18 in the video. Just throw that away and get a metal band hose clamp.

His is a third gen which I guess you have to install upside down on the bumper. On mine the large side meshes perfect with the bottom of the bumper.

Mine has the hinge at the top. I guess on 3rd gens, you put the hinge at the bottom

well I just picked up my new 2015 big horn. Now I just have to take a minute and actually find the block heater. There is not a cord anyplace behind the right fog light.

I got to mine from under the truck and through the wheel well.

it's behind the oil filter. But the 2015 is harder to get to I hear b/c of the frame change
