I Am New To The Web Site. I Have Noticed That Most Everyone Is Running Smarty Programmers On The Site. I Have A Bully Dog Power Pup That I Run On Extreme. I Also Have It Stacked With A Ts Mp-8. What Is The Difference BETWEEN The Smarty An The Bully Dog. Also Can I Leave It Stacked With My Mp-8. What Kind Of Power Can I Get Out Of A Smarty On My 03 Cummins.

on my 05 the smarty has out performed all other programmers ive run, including a bully dog with crazy larry. and yes you can still stack it with the mp8

Everyone needs a Smarty!:-laf:-laf

Now, that it is so very refined, it is my most cherished mod for the money. You will not regret the purchase of a Smarty.

I have a SmartyJr. , and even on the Level1 - Economy (40hp), it's a WOW.

I haven't even tried the 100hp setting.

I have no knowledge of other programmers, and see no need to investigate at this point in time.

Heck with the fuel prices they way they are and you gain 1 mpg, 2 years at 20k miles per year and the smarty will pay for itself! That is assuming you can keep your foot out of it!

Your truck looks sweet is ur sig!!! EVERYONE needs a smarty. I've had 3 on three ctds with lots of miles. Not one problem execpt once which was user error. BTW... you have a stock transmission?

I am up about 10% on mileage, which means its paid for itself in the year I have had it. I don't think I could go back to non smarty, when i get the oil changed etc I return to stock and the truck feels so sluggish, I am running an older program one from early last year, maybe there is a better one?? the smoke is a bit much in the summer, however since its gotten cold, I notice way less smoke on the bumper and quarter panel and prolly about 1/4 of the smoke I see during the heat of the summer. being able to mash the go pedal getting sideways while jumping out into traffic is awesome, tiresmokeing 360 powerbraking donuts are fun too when I am about to put new tires ons. I try not to really get into it below 2k rpm as I don't think the trans likes it. I sure wish I had a modded transmission so I could unleash level 8 or 9

Yes, as everyone else said you definetly need a SMARTY, it is by far the most versatile and best performing programmer for the Cummins out there, and there customer service is awesome.

If Dodge would have came from the factory with the way a Smarty runs, Ford and Chevy wouldn't be selling trucks anymore.

So the smarty does timming and fuel

The edge does the same. .

Spposidly the difference is

gauges on the attitude and the "undetectibility of the smarty" is that it??

Is there and other reason to go with the smarty? (I like the built in gauges so thats why i have be really leanning towards it. . )

I would really apreciate any help or ideas. .

Thanks

Smarty has no gauges.

It is a plain text code reader, with the ability to clear codes. There are different programs to load on a 3rd gen, for different driving styles or applications.

I have an Edge w/Att. now , will a Smarty work along with this or would you have to remove the Edge, to get it to work correctly,, what would be the benefits of having the Smarty as a stand alone unit vs , any disadvantages of having it working in conjuction with the Edge?
