Do I need extended sway bar links to go with my Bilstein shocks?

I bought Bilsteins for my 2003 3500 4X4, stock suspension, and the instructions from Bilstein say I need extended sway bar links and/or sway bar mount spacers due to extended down travel of shocks. Is this really necessary. I am going to replae the sway bar links anyway, maybe Carlis, but do I need extended?

I went to high school in Duvall...

I am running the Bil stein 5100's with my 1" level and stock length MAXX Links sway bar links and so far it hasn't been an issue.

I put the yellow and blue ones on my 03 3500 4x4 without any problems or mods. I don't remember anything like that, but then I probably never read the instructions :) Shad

Every day I see lifted 3rd gens with bent end links. 2" spacer lifts is all it takes. In theory I suppose a shock that allows more droop could bend the links at full droop-even by lifting it on a rack for service

Does a "level" kit increase the front end travel? It doesn't take much to bottom out the stock front end.

It does not increase the travel,it changes the ride height so the starting point is different. Travel is the distance from full bump to full droop

So if my truck is stock with no lift, I don't need to worry about extended sway-bar links and I can just put in new stock ones, right? The boots are shot on the old ones. Do I need to have the alignment shop look at it after I do this?

Thanks, this forum is awesome! I knew the Duvall guy would know-all the Duvall guys spend plenty of time under their trucks after they got them stuck in the mud... .
