Do I need the DTT voltage regulator,

Hey guys,I have a DTT transmission,and my transmission guy didnt hook up my voltage regulator because he said when he test drove it,it always took off in 1/st gear,and he said when he hooked it up,it wouldnt take off in 1/st gear,has anyone ever heard of one doing that,do I need to worry about it,it always takes off in 1/st gear ever since he put the transmission in,its been in for about 5 months or better.

I put a DTT in a 3rd gen a few months ago and Bill said not to install the voltage regulator unless we had second gears starts. transmission works perfectly, so we left it off. I wouldn't worry about it, sounds fine to me. Call DTT to clarify if you want to, they have always been great helping me.
