i was looking at my truck today and noticed how bed that black piece of plastic under my front bumper is looking. i've tried back to black and other products to make it look good but nothing worked. do i need it, does it do anything, i don't think it's at all good looking. ?????????????

It's there for wind resistance and fuel economy. . will you notice it being gone, I don't know. .

I do know that when the Job 2 6. 4 fords were released they went from a 2" to 4" valance to improve fuel economy.

It also promotes cooling efficiency by creating a low pressure area under the engine compartment of the vehicle where the air flowing through the cooling pack exits. This increases differential pressure across the cooling pack (radiator, intercooler, A/C condenser, etc. ) at cruising speed, thereby increasing airflow and cooling without requiring as much engine fan assist.

Try the black plastic paint. There are quite a few brands that you can choose from. It holds up quite well and should last quite a while. The plastic paints have some flexibility in them so they will flex with the plastic. Just use a good degreaser and cleaner and make sure it is dry before painting.

I wish I had your problems. <!-- google_ad_section_end -->

I can definately relate to that! I had to pull apart the driver's side dynatrac hub this morning and tighten the wheels bearings before I could get to work! Its ALWAYS something!

Stoner Trim Detailer. This stuff is great, just spray on and the plastic looks new again! I usually have to mail order it, hard to find here locally.

Forever Black Bumper and Trim - Products - Forever Black Car Care Products

I've used this stuff on several vehicles over the years with great success. It uses dye to color the plastic instead of heavy silicones. Had an Audi 4K Quattro where the black bumper trim turned a light grey; used the Forever Black (a couple of coats were needed) and it looked like new for several years. Just follow the preparation/cleaning instructions and use light coats. It's as easy as using liquid shoe polish.

X2 on Forever Black. We use it to redye door panels and dash covers as well as bumper tops. Make sure the part is clean before you apply.
