Getting ready for a new transmission... . not sure which one I'm going for yet but I have read before abut people replacing the lines also. Why? And what sould I get and where should I get them? Thanks!

What year is your truck. Some early trucks had plastic couplers. If you go with one of the major custom transmission builders, they will let you know what all you need. SNOKING

An '02 truck has the new threaded-in cooler lines. So no, you do not need new lines unless you damage them during the swap. be very carefull with the fittings and you won't have any problems. Rust and corrosion can cause the fittings on the lines to give you some grief.

What year truck is the 'slightly used' DTT trans coming out of??

Because DTT keeps detail records on all of its inhouse (including installers) build transmission's it would be best if you get them to make a note in the file regarding the new ownership, how you plan on using it etc. The trannys are build to application and use. That is mine is built to towing, others are built to racing, daily driving, or livestock use etc. SNOKING

Do you guys know what years had the check ball in the transmission lines? I was thinking about changing out the lines to get rid of the check ball.

On the newer trucks, I believe that it is built into the input of the tank cooler. A call to Sun Coast in your case would be the best, before you do anything. SNOKING
