I've seen a book on e-bay about "do it yourself propane for less than 100$" has anyone built one for a decent price??

is propane really "ok" for our motors for everyday use with other upgrades??

Thax for the help!

Bartman#1,

Don't quote me on this, but I think the main ingredent is the type of fuel tank you use:confused: Some are vapor flow, and some are liquid flow. With the liquid flow, you will need a vaporizer interchanger. It hooks up to your heater hose for water heat to vaporize the fuel. I don't think liquid is good for the motor. The orfice size is about 3/16" I think?? I think you should also use boost and vacume switches or be very careful when you turn the system on. I know some guys that have propane, but they are not home made. They all like them, the benefits are mostly good. I have thought about propane a lot, but I think I will stick to good ole #2 diesel. Sorry for the vague ifo, not much help I "reckon":)

Don't do propane. The byproduct of it is heat and the hp gain isnt very good. If your going to do any upgrade with a alternative fuel do a water/meth system. Its better on your motor and the results will make you smile.

In school I took some Alt fuels classes, and we tore the ATS kit a part and found out what model regulator they used ( they use a mass produced regulator then machine there own cover and housing so people don't know it's $125 regulator) and built the same kit ATS sells(minus the fanny CNC machine cover) for $300. I think ATS

sells there's for $900 javascript:smilie(':--)')

I still have the kit but found here at TDR that I can't put it on my HO, so PM me if anyone is interested in it.

I started to make one but the HO version of our trucks is not a good candidate. If you are intersted I have a regulators, two solenoid valves, and an adjustable sensor to turn it on. All you need is a relay or two, a switch and some plumbing. If you are interested I will sell what I have at a pretty good price.
