I just want to get a full set of o-rings and gaskets for my truck and get it over with.

I want to replace all the gaskets on the engine, and whatever o-rings are under there. I might as well do it all now considering I know of a few gasket and o-ring leaks so far.

So does anyone sell a set of gaskets in a kit that has all the gaskets for the engine?

I'm leaking oil, coolant, and power steering fluid, and it's getting on my nerves.

gasket kit

The answer is yes. Go to a Cummins dealer and tell him what all you want. I don't think you want the whole shebang. That would have the head gasket and other stuff you won't need for some time. These engines have been used in multiple applications with lots of different ways to bolt on the accesories. The major overhaul kit from Cummins includes some things you definetely won't need. Bet it still is less than from Dodge.

At 205k what you are seeing is what we oldtimers call honey, as in honey dripper. Commendable of you to do the enviromental thing and dry it up. Makes the taligate look better between washes as well.

Remember that if it was a gasser, you would need a lot more than gaskets. Sounds like you are leaking around the valve covers. Those do need attention from time to time. At about 250k on my manual equipped truck I noticed a leak near the front of the engine. Turned out to be loose bolts on the timeing cover.

Don't forget the membership drive. I have yet to encounter a fellow TDR member on the road.

gaskets

CB,

If you dont have a Cummins dealer, dont forget Case IH- tractors and construction equipment of all types use the Bseries. 4cyl has the same gaskets, seals, etc as 6 cyl.

Valve cover gaskets are easy, esp if you dont have the crossover in the way. Front main seal isnt too bad, either. I just pulled the timing cover, and used Ultra Black silicone to reseal it to the gear housing. So far so good in 3. P/S seal kit is available from Auto Zone for $20 or so. Shouldnt be too hard to get it off, either. 4 bolts and it should drop off in your hands. Pump to housing seal, timing pin seal, are a little more involved. I wouldnt change either of them unless it is a BAD leak. DOnt forget to check for loose bolts holding any seal. Over the course of 12 years and 200K, some of them could haev vibrated loose. WHile you're at it, tighten up all your airflow connections and inspect them for wear, breaks, etc.

And since 1stgen4ever mentioned a head gasket kit, i may need the 9 to 7mm adaptor tips if anyone has them left over from a HG kit.

Seems to me that age has more off an effect on gaskets, o-rings,belts, etc. than miles on our trucks. I knew a guy that bought a 92 ctd brand new and had 500,000 miles on the truck in 6 years and didn,t seem to have leaks or other problems that other trucks had with many less miles. It seems like these problems occur more with trucks that are 10 years old or older regardless of miles. Also, storing these trucks outside rather than inside a building seems to accerate problems with gaskets and o-rings, serpintine belt, etc.
