Got a set of used injectors was wondering if their is a way to clean them. Some kind of chemical that you could soak the tips in or should a guy just run how they are. They seem to have alot of soot build up.

i would get them flow tested, also replace the o-rings, you can order them from cummins. I don't recomend cleaning them with any chemicals. Just wipe them down and oil them before install.

Isnt a flow test and a pop test basically the same? These are mach 4s.

"Pop test" is just checking for leaks and opening PSI. "Flow test" puts them on a stand to measure flow over, say, 1000 cycles. Right? Getting all 6 matched good makes the engine smooth, both on PSI and flow.

We only check pressure at work. (contsruction equip. dealer)

Thanks guys. OK so what if one injector flows less than the other five what do you do to correct it?

I would get a hold of a Formula 1 vender. I sent my used M4's to Texas for F1 to inspect them, basically free of charge. Only thing it cost me was shipping both ways. That might be the best way for you to go also.

Duh I never thought of that! I took em to get cleaned and pop tested here locally today. Wouldnt you think Mach 4s would be less prone to wear from dirty fuel and such than regular injectors? Thats what I am banking on I guess, thanks for the replies people.
