I don't believe we need HD starter contacts on the 3rd gens. At least, it's never been discussed in these forums! Sorry, re-reading my response now makes me realize it was not clear.

I have seen some posts to that effect. Don't remember which forum it was on though.



Don't know as it is a cronic problem (doubt it) as all

starter solenoid contacts will be beat , battered and arced , just a matter of time.



Do a search on GOOGLE for 'LarryB solenoid' and you will see what some people have mentioned as a upgrade when needed.

The 12v's definitely needed them at 75kmi.
