I eat raw fish (sushi)... . or as Dad calls it - bait.

I like my steaks rare - or medium/rare - so that's pretty raw.

I'm hoping that I never end up as they say - 'chumming' over the side of the boat from eating this stuff.....

I will eat raw beef, venison, , ducks, fish and the like raw, pretty much any non-pork and non-chicken meat is fair game. Cooked schmooked, eat it when you are hungry the way you find it so long as there are no health hazards.

Me and my sister in laws husband were cleaning some doves one time and he dared me to eat the heart so I did and then he did. Course we had quite a few beers in us and you know what happens then. Why are you asking this question Doc?Are you a cannibal?

I'm a fan of both sushi (Japanese) and kibbee nyee (lebanese. )

My girlfriend is Syrian and her family eats Cooked Kibbee and that raw Kibbee Nyee.

I am usually open minded to try just about anything, but I just cannot stomach that Kibbee Nyee. Just looks like raw hamburger... #ad

Does that mean that Galyn eats it too?

"Kibbee Nyee" is that the name of the dish - or is that what the moans of pain from food poisoning sound like after you eat that stuff? :-laf

mmmmm... ... Steak Tar-Tar

Good stuff if you have a really good piece of meat. With decent meat its kinda nasty. I have eaten it a few times, its pretty good stuff. Personally I would rather have a really good filet cooked rare.

Here in Hawaii you kinda grow up with all different cultures foods, Japanese, Korean, Filipino, Hawaiian (of course), American, Italian, etc... , all blended together, we pretty much have rice (sticky rice) with every meal, so it's not a shock to see guys eating strange things. One night at the shop I work at 2 mechanics were chowing down on raw meat, just mixed with ginger and onions, the meat was cubed so it looked like poke (poh-kay) which is raw fish, which I love, but I never got to try the raw meat, which I wanted to, but they ate it all before I got a chance. It was a Filipino style dish, hey they got all the good stuff, pork blood, goat... ... . :)

Ah, just FYI, the Japanese word for raw fish is sashimi.

Sushi is usually rice wrapped with nori (dried seaweed)

with diffrent kinds of food stuffed in the center or placed

on the outside. It could be vegetables, fish, squid, eggs

and just about anything else that you could eat and not

die from. I love sushi with wasabi and shoyu (soy sauce).

Yep, she eats it too Matt...

I think that stuff is nasty... #ad

Andy: I wasn't sure if Galyn ate it or not. The reason I asked is because I know a lot of people (... including myself) that cringe at the thought of eating some of the things their family members enjoy.

Whatever floats their boats... .

Syrian Food

Matt,

Her families food is overall pretty great with the exception of this raw meat stuff. Now the cooked Kibbee, that is another story. They make it with some kind of nuts and spices inside. They are about the size of a hockey puck and really good.

Her favorite is Grape Leaves. Look like a wet cigar but taste pretty good.

I'm easy. Just give me a good old pizza and some Budweiser and I'm happy... :D
