Do you have a name for your rig, if so, what is it and why?

I remember my grandfather calling his truck Bessy! No idea why he named it Bessy.

I have nicknamed the wife's Caravan the "Short Bus". For some reason she dosen't find it very funny:confused:

"The Bus" since it sounds like the diesel busses around here.

other than that it's the "truck" or the "Ram".

But the real nickname is the "Bus".

I don't have a name for the '01 yet; nothing has stuck. The 1950 restored Ram has been Daisy Mae for the past 30+ years. I don't remember how it happened but suddenly the family all seemed to settle on Daisy Mae, so I had it lettered on the tail gate and soon found other people asking about "her" by name.

I bought her for $250 sitting in a garage covered with dirt, spider webs and bird droppings. She had not been started for over four years, but had only 32K miles on the clock and was in PERFECT condition except for the obvious things like burst battery, flat tires and "crud" all over it. That was in 1967, and she is now officially a member of the family. (when I removed the brake drums, all the wheel cylinders were ozing crud etc. also)

Heavy Double D

At work we had a person working with us for a short while whose name started with a D and was big and they called her heavy D, well soon after my friends started calling my 93 3/4 ton "heavy D". Then I bought the new 3500 and my friends immediately started calling it "Heavy Double D" because of the dual wheels so that's her name

We started giving names to vehicles when we had a rafting company and needed to keep the vans straight. Brutus or such worked better than trying to describe one as the blue '85 that needs tires. We also had names for the boats to keep them sorted out. Anyway, naming vehicles stuck with us and my current truck is called Buster, short for Buster Big Butt (3500).

Big Blue here... . became Big Blue 1 after we got the boat which is Big Blue 2... . Truck, boat and trailer all match which looks cool to me, funny thing is I didn't order the boat just walked into a dealer to look and found it in the back, i was sold.

My kids call it (the diesel), my friends, and family call it the Raw Dodge ,Raw Dodge is kinda on the money,I like it a lot, thinking of getting a few lazer cut decals with Raw Dodge and putting it on it in a few places.

My Girlfriend calls mine the "forrest ranger truck" and her son calls it "the creator of night". I refer to it as the "big green smoke machine".

Only when something breaks does it have a name. In fact it has MANY names then - none of which I can put on this page!!!

Black Betty the Behemoth

She's black, so Black Betty just kind of fit (also a song by Ram Jam, set the way back machine for that one). Because of the size she became known as the Behemoth.

For those that don't know the Behemoth:

It's a creature mentioned in the Bible. "Look at the behemoth, which I made along with you and which feeds on grass like an ox. What strength he has in his loins, what power in the muscles of his belly! His tail sways like a cedar; the sinews of his thighs are close-knit. His bones are tubes of bronze, his limbs like rods of iron. He ranks first among the works of God, yet his Maker can approach him with his sword. " "When the river rages, he is not alarmed; he is secure, though the Jordan should surge against his mouth. " Job 40:15-19,23

Sounds like a CTD to me!!! ;) :D :D

My brother calles it "The Log Truck" - I think courtesy of the exhaust. For me, "Casper the Ghost" comes to mind. (Trucks white) see it at NW Bombers
