I live in a relatively nice area with mostly retired folks. I'm kind of a youngin' for the area but here's my problem. .

My brother in law drives a truck and drops by once every 3 or 4 months. Usually he get's in late and leaves early. This was the case last night, he got in around 11pm and was in his truck (just the cab no trailer) at 8:45am getting ready to go. Well my sweet little old neighbor across the street LOVES the view of my house and promptly called the city, they showed up at 8:45am as he was leaving.

She has done this 3 times over the past year (everytime he has shown up). He thinks he is doing everyone a favor by pulling in and shutting down instead of making us move all the vehichles so he can get off the street. Now he has to go to court tomorrow so instead of being gone early this morning, he will be here until tomorrow after noon.

The code enforcer's watched him park his truck in my RV parking and said he is perfectly legal. Well this doesn't stop the neighbor from irritating the crap out of the city folks and then calling his employer complaining. Finally she has given up for the day I think.

I'm not an ill mannered person but I made sure I found out exactly what was legal so I can park my truck and 34' enclosed trailer in front of my house for a week or so... . there's more but I didnt want to drag out the reading.

Am I wrong or what? Some people can't give an inch for the sake of happy relations

Wanna trade?

The house next door to mine is a rental. Out of area owner, & rented to a bunch of derelicts. At least your old lady will die, my idiots are all 25-30. I am getting tired of accordion rap & viva la raza. DK.

Besides her calling everyone in the county when my brother in law drops by one time I came home with my trailer, I stopped the truck across the street so I could come put my dogs inside (so they dent get out while putting trailer away) and opening the gate to the RV slab. Well by the time I came in, put the dogs up (a full 40 seconds) and opened the gate, I think I hear my doorbell ringing. She has made it across the street and at my door in less than 1 minute! She says you aren't planning on leaving that there are you?

I admit after the crap from before I was very snide with her. I got my trailer out the next day and went over to her house, I told her I was just going to go close my gate and didn't want her to have to make a trip all the way across the street at her age to ask me if I was going to leave my trailer there :-laf . She apologized for that one and told me how she just hate's how it ruins her view. I told her 5 minutes wouldnt, hurt anyone and would keep better neighbor relations (besides it kind of freaks me out thinking she is always looking at my house). Maybe I have a prettier house than I thought :D

Guess she got over it though and next time would prefer he come in at 1am and deal with the sound of my truck noise and headlights in her bedroom as my brother in law backs his truck into my RV space and we play musical vehichles.

Met all but one of my neighbors (have lived in this house for 2+ years), and the one that I haven't met still hasn't mowed his lawn yet this year. I'm not in a big hurry to introduce myself, if you know what I mean. I hate people like that.

i'm slowly buying everything in the area, just so noboby gives me any trouble, also,we live down a 1 1/2 mile private road that noboby but me maintains, just so happens i have a cat 12 motorgrader. if i get any lip from the neihbors i don't work on the road for a few months. . as a matter of fact,i do own the damn road! hahah!

The neighbor across the street from me is a complete retard. He has a Harley and thinks his you know what doesnt stink. He guns it all hours of the day/night. He will just start it up and let it idle for 20mins at night and in the morning before he hauls balls to work. I cant wait for this summer when I'm going to work in the morning in the ole CTD. I can guarantee you it wont be an easy acceleration. I am also looking forward to getting our 455 back from the machine shop and getting it into the Skylark :-laf I will leave the rest to imagination!

:p Hummmmmmmmm... ... :p Maybe you are reading the signals wrong??:-laf

Maybe it isn't the house she wants a view of!!!!! :D

Desperate housewives is a pretty popular show on right now!!!

The house next to me is now a rental. The last renters were crystal freaks and when I would leave town they would break into my garage and steal canned food. Never any tools or anything just food. I never said anything because I had no proof, plus I figured they really must be hungry or something. My new neighbors are really good people but they have 4 dogs in the back yard and now I have flys at my BBQs with a hint of stench. The renters before any of these had 3 great little nibblers but the parents would fight very loud and nasty and cops would be called. I felt bad for the kids. And before that an older pair moved in, very nice but the Mr. would sit on the back patio which was on the second floor and stare at us all the time.

I just love neighbors, always something to be entertained by.

Steve

You gotta just love older folks who have nothin better to do than to watch what goes on in the neighborhood. Now this also can be a good thing. I had a neighbor when I purchased my first home and he gave me a report almost daily as to what went on all day when I was at work. :) He never caused any problems, just kept everyone informed. I moved out of town to get away from situations like this. Now I just have cows to look at across the road and a volunteer fire dept next door! :D

the first weekend we moved into this house we are currently at, I had a cattle trailer parked out in front while I went to work. No sooner did we get a letter from the homeowner's assn stating how there was a trailer parked in the driveway... . our driveway is about a 10°-15° incline. . there is no way in hell a gooseneck stock trailer with about 6,000 lbs of landscape rocks is going to stay like that on an incline. . so, mom goes down to the homeowner's office, and proceeds to rip ***! the lady wouldnt even come out from behind the glass... Mom put the fear of God in her! Our neighbors are all nice around here, but I am moving in with a friend, as it's 'that time'... .

I have an 8 foot stone wall in the back, the wall is only four feet tall on the neighbor's side because his property sits higher. This idiot holds his little yapper over the fence to tease my Roman Cane Corso and make him bark. I keep my finger's crossed that the moron looses hold of that dog some day  ... well ok I'm sympathetic to animals over peaple but what are my chances of the guy falling over?

I have a neighbor that rides his horses up and down a nice CLEAN neighborhood street.

Don't get me wrong, I don't mind him ridding his horses but when he doesn't pick up after them (if you know what I mean) I get ******. They always leave their mark right in front of my house.

I went over to his house and tried to talk to him about it and he was a complete jerk. So the next time it happened I took my snow shovel of horse crap and set it on his front porch and tried to talk to him again. Well after trying to talk to him I was forced to call the ordinance people. Come to find out he has 6 horses on . 75 acres. He has to get rid of four horses and pay to have the neighborhood street cleaned.

I did not want him to get rid of his horses, just clean up after them. Nothing is worse then getting the truck polished up and then driving threw a big fresh pile of manure.

Too bad the guy was a jerk, he still might of had 6 horses instead of just 2...

It would be different if we lived in out in the country somewhere, but this is a neighborhood.

Man, there is a LOT to be said for not having neighbors close by. The closest houses we can see from our house, are a mile away on the next mountain. We have closer neighbors, but we can't see or hear 'em. :D

Way back when we still lived in town, they town judge (a woman) would walk her dog past our place every day. And without fail, that dog would always crap in our front yard. We also had some carckheads down the street. Coming home drunk and screaming in the middle of the night, till one time dad had enough and told them the way it was. They also accused us of killing their dog. Never mind the fact the dog had about a 5 foot chain and there were a bunch of oil pans around it and no water... .

Now our closest neighbor is a quarter mile down the road, and if I wanna chat with him, I either ride the four wheeler or my horse down there.

I'm working on creating a "King of the Hill" environment. I'll be Hank, and my next-door neighbor is playing Dale. I think the guy across the street could be Bill if his wife leaves him. And I have a friend who would be a perfect Boom-Houer (sp?) if I can get him to move in down the street.

As for the dog poo, my neighbor (not Dale, the guy on the other side) lets his dog poo in my yard. Some day I'm going to buy a large cow and let it poop in his yard (you know, big 'ol steaming piles). When he confronts me on it I'll tell him "oh, I thought we had an agreement that our pets could poop in each others' yard!"

so the dog pooper would be khan then eh [he did it on the show too:-laf]. sounds like it time for another little project... poop catapult... something just big enough to relocate his dog poop from your lawn to his lawn/front porch/roof... or if you want to get out of the dark ages, co2 powered poop cannon... 3/4" copper pipe... some rubber gloves to load it... . or just collect it for a few days [and maybe some other extra dog poop too] and load it into his car's tailpipe, shove it as far in as you can get it... that would be fun to watch him start it up... :-laf

my neighbours on either side of me are great... i've got a chinese family on one side and while we don't talk much, we don't have any conflect happening either... on the other side, we have an older greek/cypress family. they are nice... i'll help the old man there out sometimes [making something for him out of metal or fixing something for him] and sometimes we'll go over there for dinner in the summer when they are making bbq...

Ah, you all make me feel even better about where I live. The rancher on one side of me bush-hogs my "back one", and does lots of clean-up work for me with his front-end loader. After the hurricanes last year, I paid him to use it to clean up the 26 trees I lost. The neighbors on the other side started my generator, and kept it refueled (to keep groceries from spoiling) while I was evacuated to northern Georgia during hurricane Frances. He, and the next neighbor down on that side, even cut up the two-foot diameter pine that fell across my driveway before I got home.

I have GREAT neighbors! In fact, I even put in a gate in the fence between me and the one on one side, so we wouldn't have to do the 250-yard hike out to the road and back to visit.

Well last night I decided to hook up the 34' trailer and park it in front of my house (she can't stand my beautiful CTD out front much less the trailer connected to it). I checked with the lady in codes that always gets the neighbor's call and she said as long as I'm not over 65' total, at least 30' from the intersection and not blocking anyone's driveway I'm golden :D .

I haven't decided how long I'm going to leave it there but I'm thinking at least a week to start off with and increase the time if she doesn't stop. She has been pinging off the walls today calling everyone she can think of (Even my brother in laws trucking company :-laf ) They have all told her I'm legal.

I figured that wasn't quit enough to teach her to be a respectable neighbor so I stopped on the way home and picked up some glass chalk so I can write "HAVE A NICE DAY" with a big smiley face on the side of the trailer. I might change up the drawings everyday to keep her entertained :-laf :-laf

I've requested documentation from the trucking company showing how many complaints she called in. I'm also keeping track of how many calls code enforcement receives. If more keep coming in I may have to file harassment charges against her. Hate to do it but geeze some people want everything their way even if they already have it good :(. The worst thing is, she would only have had to look at that truck for 2 hours but her calls made him have to stay for 2 days and now our stupid little war. I hate getting drawn into stupid things but I will not lie down because she want's to run the neighborhood!
