Dodge 1500 heavy duty

Sounds like to compete with the Ford 150, Dodge is marketing a 2500 with a 1500 badge and front end sheet metal GVW/GCW is slightly more then the Ford.



Also the ZF 8-speed is just around the corner, at least in the gasser.

They have been doing this since the Mega was introduced, just a 2500 hemi with 1500 badging. I think they quit doing it when the 4th gen was introduced.

GM did that too for a while, it was called a 1500 HD. It had 8-bolt wheels with flanged axles. The 1500 diesel suburban was the same idea.
