I was cruising normal pulling my trailer, when we heard a loud pop, like a hose blowing off, then a loud whoosin noise. I get 10# of boost max before egt is out of limit, it is normal at idle and only get this when I am generating boost. I'm spending the night at a rest area east of Moriaty, NM on I-40. I am contacting you thru a friend via cell phone. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

It sounds like you popped off one of the intercoolers boots. Follow from the bottom of the turbo charger forward to the front of the truck where it connects at the intercoller and check all the boot connections for one which may have popped off of broken a clamp. Then on the drivers side look down from the air horn to the intercooler and check both the boot at the air horn and the one connecting at the intercooler. One of the hoses at any of those connections could have slipped under the clamp when it popped and is leaking boost pressures. You may have also split a intercooler boot so while you doing you checking try and feel around them to see if its split. If you can not visually see a place where a boot or hose clamp popped loose you may have split the intercooler, but, that is usually not the case... . Andy

For about $15 at Home Depot you can build a Charged Air System adapter tht you can pressurize the system from an air compressor so you can test for leaks with soapy water.

I had a thread about a KSB1B. Search for that. At the bottom of that thread one of the members asked for the exact Home Depot parts list and "how to". The "how to" is all there.
