I was driving back from the Black Hills earlier (right at sunset) this week and a 40 miles or so north of Cheyenne on Highway 85. I had 3 deer jump onto the road right in front of me. Missed the first one, the third one did a 180 and dissappeared. I was hard on the brakes when I center punched the second one (impact speed somewhere between 20-30mph), and punted it 10-20 yards in front of the truck. The deer (average size white tail doe) got up and walked off. I got out to check for damage fearing the worst. It was getting dark but I still had both headlights, and couldn't see anything leaking, so on we continued. Next morning I looked it over real quick and nothing appeared to be broken so I guessed that maybe it hit on the steel bumper. A bit later the wife looked more closely and found fur embeded in the bumper, front license plate bracket, and grill. No damage to the truck whatsoever, none!

I've seen a bunch of vehicles that have hit deer over the year, and this is the first one I've seen that is unscathed (semi's, and trains excluded)... .

Second time the truck has taken a hit with no damage. First time a guy "tapped" the travel trailer hitch at a gas station. Couldn't even find a scratch on the hitch, caved in hit front license plate assembly.....

This thing is much tougher than my Geo Storm! :-laf

yeah, but the dent i put in the bed leaning on it... i dont get... .

im glad you didnt get hurt and the truck is fine. i DID tag a cement light pole about 3 weeks ago coasting backwards... hit just to the right of the place. small dent is all. chrome i still holding, but im getting a new bumper soon.

My anti-deer plan can be found at

www.reunel.com

Along with your anti-wallet and anti-weightsaving plans.

If you buy a Reunel and live in moisture or salt, you better invest in an anti-RUST plan as well.

Reunels are great and beefy. I just think you can do better in most cases, especially in light of the cost.
