Would you buy a Ford 6.0??

HP/Torque bumper stickers

I'm sure Dodge has had to do it, but we may be talking about 100 out of 1 million for the life of the CTD in the Dodge trucks. .

This is over, what, 14 years?

Not the thousands for a single model year like Ford.

dodge buyback

yes it does happen then they fix the problem and sell at the auction. have seen quite a few come through my buddies lot he buys all that he can get. they come with a one year bumper to bumper warrenty. And they dont ask questions had a dually fender light out took it back to the dealer they replaced everylight and the wiring harness. the dealers get paid by dodge so the will fix anything.

I started the lemon law process with a 92 Dakota I had for one year, one month, and one day. During that time it was in the shop 48 days for everything from stalling to paint. Problem is they don't want a vehicle lemon lawed because they end up loosing piles of money so they usually try to see if they can settle before it goes to arbitration like they did with me. I bought the truck as a brand new left over for $16,000, they had me trade it in on a new vehicle and gave me a $4,000 certificate, I got $14,000 for trade in so after a year and 22,000 miles I was $2,000 ahead. The dealer then took the truck and put it out on the used lot and sold it to someone. The truck wasn't really that bad, it's just I had a lousy dealer doing repairs.

Buy Backs

Four years ago I bought a 98. 5 3500 auto that was a buy back b/c of the trans since then I have put 250000 on that BAD trans with no probs. so go figure. If I could find another one I'd buy it in a heart beat

I have learned that if you ignore these guys, they will go away. If they are happy with mediocrity, then let them be happy with their Dodges. The only reason for them to be here is jealousy & immaturity.

The first couple of years of the gen2, 94-98 12v, DC bought back several 4x4 cummins 2500/3500s because of brake pull. Mine had it but I took it out on a lonely road and did a few hard stops from 25mph and then a few from 50-60 and the pull was gone.

My feeling is the best way to have a good vehicle is keep it out of the dealers service bay unless absolutly needed.

I think it happens much more then most think or want to admit. The local Chrysler dealer by me does not sell new Dodge trucks, but he always has a very large selection of new (1-2 months to 1-2 years old) Dodge trucks all with Cummins diesel engines. I have always been friends with the guy's over there (they are currently re-painting my truck) are they are very honest with me and openly admit all the trucks they sell are trucks that were bought back for one reason or another. Roughly 80% are because on engine trouble, and most receive a fresh rebuilt engine from Cummins. Nothing Wong with doing that, just don't close your eyes to the world and think Dodge/Cummins never have their fair share of problems, they do. On the same note, their is another dealer just 2 miles up the road that does the exact same thing, only with Ford trucks.

There was a member in the 03 forum who was doing a buyback for excessive vibration and the death wobble.

I did a search over here and over there. I came up with over 50 buybacks there and 2 here. 03 was a bad year for them though. 04 has been much better. Ford really dropped the ball. The thing is that almost every single one of em went back and got another one. At least one of em did two buybacks and still got a third. That is customer loyalty if Ive ever seen it. I myself abide by the fool me once rule. If I get one bad one they dont get a second chance to screw me.
