I know this won't help today, but I had to replace the fan clutch on my 1996 V-10 3500 a number of years ago. What I came up with was the following:

Fan Clutch (ordered from Wrenchead.com) - Comfort Temp # 36700 - $80. 12

Maybe a little bit of Google searching on Comfort Temp (or variants) might come up with something.

I go here

Look it up and print out. Then go to dealer a say what about this?

The cost for 00 fan clutch here is 134. 30

They show list at 158. 00

Most of the time they give me a discount for TDR or AAA member, but you should be able to get them to sell it to you for the list shown at this site. That's $20. If I need it in a hurry I will pay the list price shown on this site. If not I order it and get it in 2 or 3 days.

I just ordered a heavy duty fan clutch for my 99 from Orielly's last night. My price was 41. 00 so I would expect them to retail in the 80. 00 range. What all is involved with changing this thing out?

Where is Oreily's

This obviously isn't the guy on the Fox - The Factor - and while I hope you're right - that cost seems way to low - unless we're getting screwed... ... .

Oreilly's is a huge autoparts store chain. The 41. 00 is my price as I get everything at a discount due to my Wife working in the main office in the HR department. The actual pricing on this part over the counter will be in 70. 00 to 80. 00 range. I'm trying to find out if the OEM part is made by Dayco. They make about 60% of all the OEM fan clutches as well as a bunch of the belt tensioners. If it is you can go to a Dayco dealer and pay probably half what the DC dealer is wanting.

Picked up my Hayden fan clutch last night and not only does Orielly's have the clutch but they also have a loaner tool kit just for the Cummins engine that holds the shaft while you turn the nut. It comes with everything you need to change the fan except a ratchet and socket to remove the fan from the clutch. :D
