You bet... awesome idea...

I vote for Farragut State Park, near Athol, Idaho. Papa Joe can tell us all about it. It has hosted groups in the tens of thousands before, and in the mid to late summer and early fall, it has wonderful weather... as well as being naturally beautiful.

It is the site, where, in 1942, the US Navy built the second largest training facility in the world. It has space, amphitheaters, museums, and group facilities capable of holding a 20,000 boy scout jamboree. It is a short distance from a wonderful theme park, lake Pend Orielle, Sandpoint, ID and Coeur D' Alene, ID. Lots of wildlife, as well.

It has RV and tent camping facilities.

To see a summary of the park, click <a href="http://www.idahoparks.org/parks/farragut.html" target=" _blank">here</a>.

And here's a map:

The more I think about it, the more I like the idea. It need not cost the organizers any large amount, it would be a GREAT family vacation, as there's everything you ever wanted to do outdoors in the area, and everything is reasonably priced. There have been Boy Scout Jamborees of 35,000 held there before, so a few of us should not be a problem.

For those of you who've not visited the great Northwest, you're missing God's country, and those of you who have been here... well, I don't need to remind you that you really DO want to come back! Dave Smith Motors is just an hour or hour and a half drive from there - and it's the largest Dodge truck dealer in the world. Silverwood theme park is just a few minutes away, and it's a great family outing, with timber roller coasters, planned zoo, real steam train, and it's all totally wholesome.

Imagine this: it's not only a state park that welcomes you with your guns, but has a shooting range! It has horse facilities, as well, for those of you who like equestrian pursuits.

And not to mention, us Idaho Spuds are the nicest people in the world :)

And I almost forgot... This is a place where the locals would grin from ear to ear to see and hear thousand Cummins hummin :)

International rally

I think the idea is great I live in Canada and would love to come to such an event I have stayed in Farragut State Park and it is a beautiful area with great facilities. A suggestion is to have it in the early Fall less crowds and more likely to be able to book the park.

The idea is to have it when the whole family can go. Northern Idaho is family country... from theme parks to regular outdoor adventure. make it a vacation for a week and do truck stuff too

That means, during the summer, when school's out. besides, Farragut can only be reserved 11 months in advance

Farragut would be a great place to have it. Noise would not be a problem. However you will not be able to do any drag racing, burnout or hot dogging in the Park, the Rangers are real strict about speed and that kind of stuff. There is a couple of air strips within 7 to 10 miles, one of which is already set up as a drag strip. The have muscle car races there and I'm sure we could arrange for truck races. They might even set up a mudbog pit, and if we can get a sled, (I think Jason Burton know of one in Spokane) we could possibly have sled pulls.

Like Power Wagon said, Silverwood Theme Park is right there with 3 different roller coasters, and that is also where the drag strip is. It would be a lot of fun, and lots of things to do. Swimming, boating, fishing, hiking, camping, backpacking, hundreds of motorcycle and 4-wheeler trails, and much more.

If you haven't been to the Coeur d'Alene/Sandpoint areas in Idaho, this would be a real treat.

Did you say 4wheeler trails

Count me in. :p What could be better a trip with ridding wheelers and talking trucks. :)

Is this heaven? No it's Idaho :D Oo. :D Oo.

Yeeeeeee Haaaaaaaa:cool:
