I purchased new in 08 a 3500 quad cab 4X4, . 410 gears, cummins, automatic, long bed. Has 26,500 miles. It had a vibration. Dodge dealer had me bring it in April 24, 2012 and determined the problem is a out of spec differential. Dodge doesn't have one. Called their customer help line and talked to Sandra, Francisco and Gus who said none are in stock and he doesn't know when if ever they will be. I sent letters to Chryslers president and board members with no response. I just rejected an offer on my house because I have no truck to move with. (I have the offer to prove it) I've had it. Almost 3 weeks with no truck because Dodge is to cheap to stock parts!!! I'm retired and can't afford another payment or I would trade it for another brands 1 ton Diesel today. Please give me some suggestions. Has any one hired a lawyer in a situation like this? I asked my dealer if I purchased an after marked differential if they could install it. They said I would have to pay for everything and It would void my powertrain warranty. Help Rick

You might want to have another dealer check that diagnosis,it would be very rare if it was a diff making the vibration vs the more common driveshaft vibrations

Plenty of 410's should be around. Where are you feeling the vibration? What is out of spec on the Diferential? As suggsested find another dealer!

You rejected an offer on your house because of the vibration in your truck, sorry about your problem, your story doesn't pass the smell test.

Why is it when a story is too wild, crazy, hard to accept as "the truth, the hole :-laf truth, and nothing but the truth", the OP has less than 25 posts?

Lot's of members come here looking for help with low post count. Might have been advised by the dealer to not drive it until repairs are completed.

I'd agree with the above - get a second opinion elsewhere.

If there is another differential anywhere in the world and I'm sure there is, the shop should be able to get it within a week, you need to try a different shop. bg

Call AAM they are the makers of the drive lines and rear ends . Talked to them at the SEMA show years ago said they were trying to get to the problem of all the driveline issues.

Ron D How do I hook up my 20' enclosed trailer to the $50. loaner car and haul it 2500 miles round trip. How do I attach my 16,500 pound toy hauler to the loaner car and take it 1200 miles. I have a 2400 square foot shop full of cars and motorcycles, car lifts, bike lifts, etc. . How do I take all this in the loaner car to the nearest mini storage site 15 miles away? They want me out by 6-15. I think you should sniff more before you say it stinks!

Now for the rest. Dodge had the dealer start with tire balance, drive shafts, axles, etc. . Dodge finally told the dealer they can put in aftermarket ring and pinion on Dodges nickle and it won't void the warranty. The problem was a wurr, wurr, wurr, up and down vibration, like a rear end going out, but in this case it was the front end. It was so bad between 72 and 78 MPH you just couldn't drive. You could feel it starting at about 55 MPH. It was worse going around corners.

Very simple, remove the front drive shaft, and go drive it, or go rent something.
