toyota t 100 clutch problem

i have a 2001 durango (old body style) with the 4. 7L, auto transmission and the LSD rear end. about 8k miles ago something started to grind/slip when starting out in a high torque condition... first gear uphill, or hard acceleration. took it to the dealer, they "couldn't reproduce the problem" since then the warrenty has run out, and the problem is getting worse. i know that this isn't alot of info to go on, but any, but any thoughts or ideas? the transmission and rear end was serviced by the dealer about 15k miles or so ago (fluid, filter, etc). it only does it when starting out from a stop. otherwise it runs great and pulls hard even when making the noise.

Pull The Plug On Your Transfer Case And See If There Is Any Steel In There. Replaced The One In The Wifes Durango Just Before We Sold It And What You Have Sounds Very Much Like The Symtoms We Had. Ive Also Had The One In My Truck Break A Little Snap Ring And It Will Do Similar To What You Said.
