Good morning/afternoon, this is my first time postin, just signed up. I have an 04 dodge cummins with 2nd generation style manifold. I am having a hard time removing clevis pin on the exhaust brake butterfly flapper. I found a thread in this forum in 2nd gen section but the pictures posted are not found. The reason I am trying to remove is for actuator clearance issues with ac lines. I need to move the E brake actuator 180°. Do I just keep hammering with punch or am I missing a step? Below is a couple pics. Thank you all in advance.

If you keep striking the pin, it will mushroom more and never come out at all. You could also risk bending the cross shaft. It looks like your pictures are showing both sides of the pin, correct? You may be more successful by carefully drilling out the pin or drilling it half way and then use a PIN punch to fit in the bottom of the drilled hole. Drilling will relieve some of the interference fit. If you have mushroomed the end of the pin, grind it off flush with the butterfly of the exhaust brake.

Thank you motorhead! It had that swedge/mushroom to it before I took the hammer to it but I did what you recommended and it worked like a charm! I was able to spin the flapper 180. I went to tractor supply and purchased a new clevis pin that was a little bigger than the hole, beveled it and hammered it back through and than swedged the tip. Now back to the install. Thank you again!

Glad it worked. This is the real value of forums like this. I have gotten MANY good suggestions to problems I have encountered from the TDR forums. Just passing it forward.
