Dodge Service Manual

In chapter 3 of the dodge service manual it lists all the axles..... why can't D/C just say Dana 60, 70 or 80... . instead of 216 and 248 FBI, 248 and 267 RBI, 286 RBI, and the 9 1/4" rear axle... ... Am i missing something here... ... Could someone please help me out here... ... . which one of these do the 3500's have under them... ... I know it is a Dana 80..... but I need that translated for me... ... . guess i am just to redneck for the terminolgy!!!!!

Those are ring gear measurements in millimeters so yours is the 286mm ring gear. Yes I agree it's stupid
