dodge torque converter "not so good"

I just got back from a run up to hunting camp with the skid loader in tow. Everthing worked good, But these dodge converts are realy bad. Like I said everthing worked good but to get up to speed it just does not give you that solid feeling I am looking for. I have a banks set up 4" ex, intake, high ram intake, otto mind so the truck runs good (2001 3/4). The truck has 140000 on it. I will be upgrading to a georand transmission and converter when this one give out. All is well now ,later

I must disagree with your thread title! Dodge transmission "not so good" would be more like it. Your 2001 has a crappy 47RE and yes, it can't handle the extra 100 hp the ottomind throws at it.

Haven't used a Goerend converter. I have a suncoast single disk. It's o. k. , but I would have gone with a tighter one if I do it again. The cummins makes its power at 1600 rpm. My converter when it was stock, stalled at 2500 rpm. Only 500 rpm left before the rev limiter. Truck was a pos, gutless junk. Now it's a little better, but I'm going to get a valve body that will allow lockup in 1st and 2nd gear because I'm tired of creeping up hills at 2500 rpm when it should be 1800 and pulling like a freight train...

It will be like a completely different truck with a good convertor/trans. Any of the ventors are good. Best thing you can do for your truck.

The Georand Converter is good for life. Even if your old transmission takes it out, They will replace it less shipping. It is a tripple disk set up. I have herd the same thing with suncoast. When I put a new set up in my truck I want to feel a big difference. And you should for what they cost.
