Off Roading KORE and Rides

Competition New NHRdA race added

I have a buddy that wants to give his 2001 V-10 some more GO.

He already has a full intake and exhaust. He wants to take this as the next step.

Which one is better???

Jet Module?

Superchips Tuner?

Hypertec Tuner?

Comp Cams Tuner?

Any others out there???

I had a 2000 V-10 and installed the Jet Chip and it didn't make a crap of difference. I even tried higher octane fuel to see if that helped. Nope. Can't speak to any of the others, though. Man I hated that truck.

Higher octane fuel simply has less knock tendency and benefits engines that are running close to their knock-limited mean effective pressure. In other words, without changing boost or compression ratio increasing octane will have no effect on performance.

I Know a guy with a ford gasser 5. 8 F 250 he ended up puting a supercharger on it and it helped. Thats probly the only way he is going to wake that thing up but then you have to watch the head gasket. Im not sure how expensive it is to rebuild a V 10 but you could sink alot of money into a gasser engine and never get it back they don,t hold good resale . If it were my truck i would sell it and get a diesel or swap a 12v into it more power,no smog, longer lasting engine.

When I had my 97 V-10 I had thought about doing something like that. Found that dodge makes a "performance" ECM. Never got around to doing it though. They may have one for th later models also.
