dodge vs. ford

test drove new ford 6. 0l 4x4 auto, here is my quick summary:



interior:

1. lots of room

2. seats are comfortable

3. look very cheap



exterior:

1. looks ok, more like a boat though (big box)

2. nice level look



handling:

1. two thumbs down steering

2. avg. ride

3. negative on the brakes



power:

1. :--) quick spool up

2. open the hood and it looks like the jungles of cambodia:-laf

3. transmission shifts like a dream



kudos to the spin on transmission filter, top mounted oil filter and cast iron heads. negative on the glow plugs.



but my overall comparison to the dodge is that there is no comparison. . DODGE takes the cake.



that new six liter engine sound like sh*! let me say this again that 6. 0l sounds like sh*!. i would not buy a ford just for the sound of this engine. i am not exaggerating go listen to one and you will understand.



get ready tdr members we are going to be getting alot of new friends from the Ford crowd. lets us welcome them.

Oh yes we are! My buddy just picked his up yesterday. I can't wait for his to get 1000 miles on it so we can line em up. I have been hearing it all week, he has more power, more rear seat room, (I'm driving like I care!) better this, better that.



Soon it will be put up or shut up time.

is this race going to be 3. 73dodge vs 3. 73ford. these fords are fast or at least that is what my s. o. p meter says. the ford's are 700#'s lighter. give'em hell, do us proud. i heard someone race a ford the other day and won i was suprised. he may have on ez and not wanted to admit it. i dont think the dodge will beat the ford in a race w/o load. (as if it really matters the cummins will be the first one to 500K miles )

They did a piece on one of the news shows about how the new Ford and Chevy HD trucks are being designed with the Woman in mind :-laf (they think that is there new big market) Glad mine was not designed with a Woman in mind. Tell your buddy that his new purse doesn't match his shoes and that his butt looks like it is getting a little bigger. :-laf But you think the color of his new truck matches his eyes. Tell him with Ford you heard they are shooting for that sort of thing, where at Dodge they still care about how much the truck can tow. That should shut him up :-{}

LOL @ Pit Bull that's great.



Of course we will be doing the test with some weight behind em. I will use my 28 foot goose-neck with 2 trucks on it weighing in at about 14,000 #'s. He can pull his camper that is very close to the same weight.



And if I loose oh well. He still bought a Ford! And to think he traded a 375 +/- hp cummins in on it! He should be publicly caned.

well i must say that the adjustable pedals i ordered had a woman in mind. that woman was my wife and she was tickled that she did not have to pull right up to the steering wheel to drive... . momma is happy and i love it. this shows dodge has women and men in mind (16,300 lb towing capacity :--) eat that rattlestroke(6. 0 sounds like a baby rattle:-laf , and duramelt (aluminum heads that is:-laf

Your race s/b interesting! The 6. 0 ford I saw run on a dyno made about 80 Ft lbs less torque than the 03 Dodge that was there!

Maybe you should bet him - come to think of it, can I get in on that action?
