1st problem last year high beam head lights go out traced it down to broken wire at multi function switch right at the little connector in the harness plug. Fixed with easy didn't think that much about it. 2nd problem pulling in to work today truck dies totally before I make it into a parking stall already late I left it till after work start with ign fuses none burnt moved column and the power comes back pull apart and found the main power wire to the ign switch broken in the middle of the wire WTF not at a weak point but right in the middle of the wire and I see other wires with the insulation cracked or cut. I fixed the wire but this is NUTS!! with only 97k on the truck do I have a life time of wiring nightmares ahead of me?? Any body else have similar troubles? Are the harness's made in Taiwan?

Others have reported the same problem, I feel it's more related to the harness being too tight on some individual rigs at the steering column location rather than low quality. I've never had a problem with mine except that the main harness in the engine compartment is in the wrong place , always getting in the way and impossible to move.

i had to pull the tps wires out of the wiring harness before mine would behave properly... ... . took a lot of time and money before i actually did this... ..... yes, dodge makes quite a pos truck but i like the cummins diesel... ... .

My 97 has 178. 000 on it with no wiring problems so far. Illflem is prolly right about some trucks having the wires to tight.

Illflem

I agree on the engine harness being in the wrong place, it sure would be great to be able to buy a extension harness to make it long enough to move it off to one side.
