Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Dodges NEW IN tank lift pump???

On Tuesday Dodge is putting in a supposed new design lift pump IN the tank. Anyone hear anything else about this? They said that is why they were back ordered. Is this the same as 3 generation trucks or something? Keep you posted as I learn more.

It is the same as the 3rd gen pump that goes in the tank. My service manager told me about it a while back. Said if I came in for a lift pump replacment he would put one in. He said they seem to work much better.

brought my 02 in today bad vp-44 and they will replace the lift pump with the new kind that goes in tank. they did say it would take 10 days or so to get the injection pump in. the good thing is it is covered under the 5yr 100,000 mile warranty from dodge.
