Hangover Cures, Anyone ?

Went to the auto show in San Diego today. DC did not have one 3500 DRW or SRW in the display. They had a good showing of the 2500 but very poor on the 3500. They had one big customized 3500 all roped off that the public could not put their hands on. This one even had a color not available from DC. Someone goes to a lot of expence and work to show their products to thousands of people under one roof. Why would they not have at least one big 3500 DRW 4x4 Turbo diesel that the masses could sit in, rub, touch or feel? I noticed the ford people had one of there big boys out front and people were all over it. I wanted to see inside the cab, but to many people in the way. The people setting up these shows are experts?

DC really needs to sell trucks, but sometimes they make mistakes on the most elementary levels of marketing.

Look at the Dodge website. They are selling 1500's with Hemi's. I think the 2500 and 3500 with Cummins sell themselves. They still have not updated their website for the Cummins 600. Look at the truck news section on their website, ... no mention of any changes to the Cummins.

I agree, the dodge booth was a disappointment. They had no truck brochures, and the man I spoke with there had no cummins knowledge at all.

I ran into the same thing at the Anaheim Auto show a couple years ago... . the new 03's had come out and Dodge did not have even one diesel at the show.

They need to wake up in marketing department... I see plenty of F and C ads on TV for their diesel offerings and never any for Dodge... . and the ads they do put out suck.

Just my $. 02

the 2003 toronto auto show wasn't all that bad for dodge then i think? they had a black loaded quad cab dually cummins 6speed there. i liked that one... but i'll bet this year, they will have nothing but slushboxes... :(

Lack of brochures, advertisements, visibility...

Yet we still pay for 'marketing/advertisement' when we buy new trucks... . It's included in every new vehicle sale...

The Cummins may sell itself, but there's no harm in advertising it a little bit more... unless they feel they won't be able to keep up with demand... .

Have you guys looked at the '04 RAM borchure? It's almost 12" x 12" and about 30 pages, with lots of stupid pictures, and ... almost no information. It doesn't even list all of the options available, just some of the packages. I guess they are trying to sell to the emotional customer who decides to buy a 1 ton truck because of the picture of the girl in the brochure looking at a Hemi. Their website isn't much better.
