I'm getting Ready to buy a new work truck and would like the 6 speed auto but have concerns about duribility. I tow a gooseneck with a mini excavator on it that is about 16,000lbs total weight including the trailer. do you think the new transmission will hold up? The 48re in my current truck has been rebuilt 3 times but two of the times were from a faulty valve body that was putting out to much pressure.

The new 6-speed auto transmission will not be available until after the 1st of Jan. Only time will tell if it will be stout enough to stand up to heavy towing.
