Does the Ez alone leave any traces in the ECM that DC could find. :confused: Thinking of installing one but I still have warranty left. I would remove the EZ before it went in. Also, My brother has an ETH-DEE. Will the same EZ that fits my ETC also work on his? Chris

Nope...

Mine won't, unless you count the velcro used to hold it down. I was worried also since I only have 11K, but no worries after installation.

Yes, it does leave a trail. It shows up as a "fuel fault" when the ECM is scanned using Cummins software. I have seen it with all of the plug-in boxes.

Clear as mud, eh? My understanding is that DC can not tell using DC scanners, but Cummins knows using their scanners. So typical trip to dealer for oil change, etc. probably would not set flag, but buyer beware.

I believe that the EZ will work on both trucks 2000-up. I know for sure that 2001 ETC to 2001 ETH will work.

I have had DC IN my truck with the scanner hooked up and NO codes. I too was in the truck with the tech. and he was driving. He ran the whole test and NO TRAIL.

Barry,

DC techs can't see it... You have to use the Cummins software & datalink, and then it shows up as a fueling anomaly. First, it shows up as a warning, right you you begin to scan the ECM. Then, as you get further into it, you being to see that some of the fuel numbers do not match--fuel consumed/demanded. Most techs won't pick up on it, unless they really know the system well. DRB scanners cannot find the trail left by the EZ or VA, or whatever it is that's hooked up. If DC is Big Brother, that makes Cummins the father... Father always knows. :{
