I have an 04. 5 with a FASS fuel system for about one year now and like it, but never thought about the fuel heater operation or the water in fuel sensor. I have the pump plumbed directly to the CP-3 pump which by-passes these. I would like these to be at least operational IF needed. can anyone help. thanks.

The fass does have a fuel heater but you have to plumb coolant lines through the Fass. If you are north of the 49th don't worry about it. Our Canadian diesel doesn't gel and they only sell winter diesel up here when its cold. If you are in the US its a different story. No 1 and No2 available and the temp between areas differs a lot. I took out the relay and fuse for the fuel heater on my truck. No need if it can't so anything.

If you want to plumb into the factory filter canister, you'll need a fitting to replace where the lift pump was. These are available from Glacier Diesel Power, among other places.

you can actually use the fitting that comes from FASS in the kit. The one designed to go into the CP3. Just remove the banjo bolt and move the feed line out of the way, install the supplied fitting and run the line from the FASS to the cannister. I did this and left my pressure sender in the CP3. I see 18 idling and 16 driving around, cant pull it below 14, so I would say the restriction is minimal. I did remove the factory filter in the cannister and sucked all the crud from the bottom out.
