i have a number 5 plate in my truck and i had to disconnect the wastegate because of the egts. it seems that i have less power with higer boost. it will only go to 32psi because of the small housing and the egts dont go past 900 pre turbo. with the wastegate at the stock 20psi my egts will just climb very fast until i let off. i have a boost elbow on the way that i ordered. what would be optimum setting for the boost.

Boost Numbers

I wouls wastegate it at 34 psi any more boost with the stock turbo your just creating more heat and back pressure. Oo.

ground plate and 370's not enough fuel? i got the bd orfice. with a 100 plate i can reach 38 psi if i put my foot in it.

Maybe your lift pump or return valve ck ball spring needs stretching and there is no more fuel available (cavatation?). At that point you would be at a high enough rpm with a 3000gsk to make unwanted boost and reduce your fuel to air ratio, hence lower egt's Just my 2 cents.

I have the same pump you do, and the same plate. My plate is slid all of the way forward. With the boost elbow in set in the stock position, max boost is 30 and max pre turbo EGT is 1350. With the wastegate disconnected, max boost is 42 (I know it doesn't flow well there, I'm just using it for comparison), and my max EGTs are right at 1200.

You aren't getting the fuel you should be getting. In addition to checking the items Heepdriver already listed, make sure your shutoff solenoid is pulling the lever up all of the way.
