Does Rain-X w/w fluid work very well?

The light is flickering on the dash warning me of low window washer fluid. Oh, my gosh, a warning light!! My truck is going on 4 years old, and this will be the first re-fill for the w/w bottle. Hmm, time to get a new truck? That sounds like a good enough excuse to me! #ad

I'm a big fan of Rain-X, and I've seen bottles of Rain-X's brand of window washer fluid at the auto parts stores, but I've never used it. Anyone have any luck with it, or should I just dump in the cheap stuff?

I have used rainx since the mid 70's. Since I have been using the rainx ww fluid ( about 5 yrs ) I only recoat the windows once a year. Also use it for cleaning my glasses and in an old windex spray bottle for all windows, chrome and mirrors in the house.

I like the Prestone windshield washer deicer. Works great when you park your rig wet to give the windshield a squirt before shutting down to keep the wipers from freezing to the wind shield. Never tried the Rain-X washer fluid but had bad luck with their window treatment. It did what it said it would do as far as keeping the windows from fogging and made it so you didn't need wipers in lighter rain. Bad part was it caused the rubber wiper blades to rub off on the windshield wearing the blades rapidly and leaving black marks all over the windshield,guy at the auto parts said others had the same complaint. This was several years ago maybe they have changed the formulation now,if so I'd use it again.

I've have used RAINX product's for years and the RAINX WW FLUID is the best . IT'S lot easier to use + i don't get as much frost on windshield as the other windows. the only RAINX product i don't like is FOGX,I never could get it to work right.

You applied it too heavy and then did not buff enough off. This stuff is not like applying paste wax. I put it that heavy on side and rear windows as it keeps dirt and sandfrom sticking and keeps water spots from becoming perminently attached mineral deposits.

FOG-X is garbage, just makes the inside of windows smeary and in need of being washed.

In the summer all I use is the rain X WW fluid in the winter I mix the rain X WW additive with the prestone Deicer WW fluid this give me the polymer additive to the deicer which is the best of both worlds.

Has anyone compared Rain-X® to 20/10® washer solution?
I love the 20/10 and it is cheap from Costco, but have never tried the Rain-x to compare.

Forgot to give my 2¢ on the Rain-X window product. Pain in the butt to apply in the winter, but great for the Pacific NorthWet if you don't have Seattle (intermittent) wiper controls or have a Chevy S-10.

I use it and I like it. You can run with no wipers in all but the heaviest rain, however I'm not advocating that you do that.

I bought at WalMart a gallon bottle of Rain-X with an anti-freeze additive. I wasn't aware that they made such a thing.
I was kind of surprised as I was pouring it into the w/w fluid reservoir under the hood. I kept pouring and pouring, thinking, "well, it's going to fill up sooner or later. " I ended up pouring in the entire gallon bottle. I had no idea our w/w fluid reservoirs are so big! No wonder it took 3. 75 years for the light came on! Is there anything on these truck that's not overbuilt??
