Does smarty + DTC = less MPG?

hey this is not my 1st time posting this month in the way of the smarty. last time i posted about my pcm not programmed with a VIN. This time we decided to back off the smarty from 9 to 7 as our mileage showed a decrease over prior experiences on level 9. we simply want smoke when we want it and the rest of the time just be easy stay out of the skinny and let the torque bring us the mileage at an rpm range we found brings the best mileage on level 9. but anyways i checked for dtcs before i backed down on the samrty and i have yet a new code. didnt get the number but it said "DECREASED ENGINE PERFORMANCE-DUE TO OVERHEATING CONDITION". I am wondering if thats where our mpg went, lost in the realm of glitchy computer software? I am seeing all sorts of codes pop up recently and this time fuel went bye-bye in same driving conditions with less mileage (normal driving, not doggin). we were never overheating, not once.



What in the world is going on? Im tired of DTC's for apparently no reason at all. thought samrty was supposed to be the best. honestly its great and all for its so many levels of adjustability and do so much for the buck but my older PPE hot never gives me any issues on my truck.

I have never had my Smarty Revo throw any ghost codes. Are you sure you never overheated the truck?

Any condition that causes the ecm to derate MUST be repaired. You most likely did get it hot at least once for some amount of time,for the derate to have happened.

I thought that code just meant the truck went into limp mode secondary to overheat. Once the temp comes down, the limp mode (and lack of performance) would be gone. I had that code once when I was 2 gallons low on coolant from my turbo install (I didn't realize it, but I had air in the system). Anyway, the temp was only high for as long as it took me to pull over (about 30 seconds). Got it cooled down with some more coolant and everything seemed fine. Mileage after that seemed to be the same.
