A friend's 99 lost 5th gear and the dealer charged him 500. 00 to put a new nut on. It is still under th 5/100 warranty as it has 6 months (from date of sale) and is only at 68,000. Shouldn't't this be part of the power train? They told him the nut coming loose was not covered and he paid. They did acknowledge that he still has coverage but said it was a non-warranty item. They also said it is an almost unheard of problem:confused: Jake

Only on the newer ones. 2002 and prior it was 100,000 on the engine, 3/36,000 on most everything else (except for wear items). transmission was only covered to 36,000 miles.

Thanks. Sounds like the dealer was giving him the straight story. He had doubts as they refused to do warantee work on it previously, because he bought it at another dealer. Jake

Some 2002's DO HAVE the 7/70 on the power train  .

I bought my '02 in August of 2002 and I'm sure that I have the 7/70 on the power train.

Send a letter off to DC Customer Service with a copy of the bill and explain your side of the story. I had a trans problem and did the same and DC sent me check for the repairs. My truck was at 43700 on 3/36 warranty. I am satisfied with DC timely response to my problem. Dealers are not going to make any interpretation on warranty issues, there in it for as much as they can get.
