Does the BHAF need something to hold it in place?

I'm getting ready for the BHAF and wanted to know if I needed to do anything to secure it in place or will it stay there once it's clamped to the hose?

I took the plastic "mushroom nuts" out of the stock airbox and turned them head-side-up on the air filter box studs. The BHAF now rests on the broad heads of these mushroom nuts without a problem.

The Jacobs e-brake solenoid mounted on the firewall helps to keep my BHAF from shifting. I've seen reports from those who don't have this solenoid that the BHAF can get into the aluminum air conditioning lines back toward the firewall. Some type of restraint or shielding of these lines would be highly recommended if this is a problem.

You can go to home depot or wherever that sells them and get some giant zip ties that will hold it in place just fine. when I had my Mallory mount it came with a 2' zip tie to secure it to the mount. Without the mount you may need a longer one but can surely feed it through or around something that will hold it. You colud also take off the plastic stock airbox nuts and get a piece of alum or whatever and cut into a shape of your choice drill some holes in it that match the stock airbox bolts set the plate on there, replace the nuts feed the zip tie underneath it then place the filter in and secure the zip tie.

You could use the rubber nuts like rusty was talking about or get some rubber bumpers like those used on car doors (Ace hardware has them) and screw on to the studs, other than that there fine there and they won't move around much as the hood pad actually touches the filter.

I used a thin (slightly thicker than the length of the studs) piece of wood with 2 holes drilled into it (just a hair closer to gether than the spacing of the studs to wedge it a little). Then used 4 big zip ties (2 attached to each other, weren't long enough) that go around the wood and filter. The hood pad just touches it. Doesn't move.
