Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Does the wastegate make noise?

I finally pulled something big(ger) behind my truck. We got a 29' Wildcat that weighs in at about 7500 empty. I found out on a trip from Reno to NW Washington that a) the mods that I did on my truck will move it along just fine, b) I have a EGT issue climbing some steeper grades, and c) that I can peg my 35 lb boost gauge. Obviously, that only happened once. I adjusted the elbow so that it would top out at about 32. My question here is, when the wastegate opens, does it make any noise? I didn't hear anything when the boost quit rising. Got to get on that egt thing. New turbo? Advance pump timing? Wave more green over the engine to get new results! I was close to Pier's, but didn't have my passport or anything else besides a drivers license and didn't want to mess with trying to get back!
