Well, it took 3 years

Purchase suggestions for a .50 BMG

You know the type that when they think you did something good or extra and they try to make you look good so all the others will try harder. My job does this at every monthly safety meeting, I usually pull in about 6 or 8 a year, $50 is the going rate on them and they will get you a certificate for what ever store you want. We also have a points program kinda like the ol green stamp thing usta be, ya gotta have a gagillion points to buy anything though, I just spent 70k points for a GPS that shoulda been here a couple weeks ago, sure wanted it for our big trip to Texas and back but it was a no show.

Cheers, Kevin

Where I work they also have a program for those who go "above and beyond".

Our reward is more of the work from those who just do enough to get by.

Above my desk is a framed certificate for 20 years perfect attendance.

Attatched to the certificate is a note.

The note states

"This certificate and $2. 00 will buy you a cup of coffee. "

My Boss & his Boss were NOT amused. :-laf

My only reward for good decisions, hard work and longer hours is to see the company owners pockets get lined with more money so he can go on 6 vacations per year instead of 5, buy something to go along with the Viper and Pantera in the 6 car garage, or have more money to pay for the mistakes made by his favorite employees who should have been canned years ago for incompetencies and stupidity that go utterly beyond the descriptions offered by mere words.

Needless to say I'm looking elsewhere right now.

No.

My company asks for suggestions, safety related issues, etc.

Theyre promptly filed in the circular file. For the most part, managment dont want to hear these things, even though they supposidly want "suggestions".

Now that they know theyre closing, aint no different.

It's taken some time, mind you, but I finally figured out just how much I should open my mouth. The truth is, the truth hurts. Improving the job usually means someone needs their butt kicked. I only wish I was in a position where money meant so little that I could answer honestly when someone lays this on me.

Without getting too much into details..

Were doing things that (at the very least) jeoperdises our licenses, and to put it mildly, is NOT a safe work enviornment every day at work.

I realise I accepted the job. The old chief was on his way out, and I thought that this would be a good change. Not so. The new chief is just as much a brown nose as the old one was, in some ways much more so.

Oh well, theyre moving to mexico, so as long as the place dont blow up between now and then, they could put me into a diving bell for a year... ... I couldnt care less. :D

PS I was out of work for over 2 years at one point.

I've been there too.

When it comes to life and property, I WILL speak up.

The job I will be starting in Greenville, SC after I graduate here in December is for a superintendent position for an on-your-lot homebuilder, America's Homeplace. They supposedly pay $200 for every house you complete on top of salary, truck, phone, etc.

They have 43 offices in the Southeast right now, and are looking to double that in the next five to ten years. Should be some good opportunity... I hope.

No suck bucks here, but the harder I work, the more I make. I couldn't think of a more rewarding way to make a living than working for myself. :D I'm very fortunate.

No

I don't suck so I don't get no suck bucks!:p Never have and at this stage in my life never and I mean never will. I just do my job. And if thats not enough for them--See you:) I got where I am at by what they they call work. I don't laugh with the big boys. I do not suck a**

my company will bend over backwards to screw you over anyway they can. they are cutting jobs, abolishing weekend days off jobs, canceled all the overtime, got rid of our big lunchroom... everyone now wants to screw the company and the new american boss's we have. [all these changes happened when we got new american management]

there is a saying that floats around at work. if you f*ck the dog all day long, you still get paid the same money as someone who worked his arse off all day. if the company is going to treat the employees like garbage, why should we do anything to help them out at all? new contract year is coming up in a month, and i'll bet we'll get locked out or go on strike... :(:(:(:(:(

My plant pays you an extra $50 bucks a month if you are not late and don't have an un-excused absence. About 1/2 of us take advantage of it. Other half does not give a crap about the bonus.

My job of the last 17 1/2 years gave me the ****can for not getting involved in sucking and asskissing. All I did was work my ass off, sell product consistently for $0. 10-$0. 18 per lb more than our other offices, and have loyal and trusting customers that never had to call our competitors and give them a chance to get there nose in there doors.

But the good thing was it gave me a chance to find out that there was much more in life than doing there bidding and never getting rewarded, or recognized for my efforts.

Oh well they had to find 3 or 4 people to do my job halfassed after they sent me packing, oh well my should I try to understand it?

They were a big company headquartered in TX, not to bash TX, but sometimes bigger isn't always better.

Where I work we don't get anything. I mean no vaca time, no sick days, no incentive to do good or better, no christmas party, but atleast we get a christmas bonus - a (1) company T shirt. I've been there 6 years now and not even a raise. So last labor day I decided to go out on my own and forge my own path. I figure if I don't take care of me no one else will.
