Since it has been colder now, lows in the 10's, highs in the 20-40s, my transmission is real hard to get into 1st or 2nd gear in the mornings. Sometimes the shift to 3rd is a bit rough, even when my transmission is warm. I'm thinking it is the cold but could it also be that I need a fluid change? I've got 67k miles over 4yrs on the factory transmission lube.

Does not get that Cold in California but I would recomend changing the ATF. The 2001 manual recomends changing it every year. I change mine at 9,000 miles. Well worth the money to extend the live of the transmission.

looks like a change is in the works. If I remember correctly, Mopar fluid is $100 to refil the NV-4500. What does Amsoil run or other products that you guys use?

I've also noticed some fluid around the rear of the transmission so since I'm under warranty maybe if I take it in for the leak, I'll get new fluid! :D
