Great Service

Well, it was 4 below this morning. I had my suspicions confirmed that the Allied dog pad heaters (like K&H lectro kennel) were not working. They are only a couple of years old and I'm disappointed in how long they lasted. No, on second thought, I'm POed.

I got to looking at the Hound Heaters ( www.houndheater.com ). Does anyone have any experience with these, or other alternatives. Also considered buying just the ceramic bulb and fashioning a cover out of a large size can.

They sleep inside at night. But I like to put them out during the day for varing periods of time depending on how cold it is. Usually from 0900 until 1200, a warm up for lunch, and then 1300 until 1500. Unless it's very cold,e. g. fifteen to thirty below is not uncommon in the winter.

we are building a house and putting in some 'Suntouch' radiant floor heaters under the tile floor in the master bath. Their propaganda adds show putting one of these in a dog house. You may need to totally build a new dog house but hey dogs are usually worth it.

Randiant is nice... BUT... I need a portable solution so I can haul it back and forth to BZ during the winter.

I have two of those split in half plastic house that I shuffle back and forth as needed.

My wife is always lobbying for radiant floor heating in our someday-going-to-build-new place. Maybe I can get her a dog house :-laf

pssst, don't tell her I said this

Cute, real cute tugboat. :-laf

Order a couple of 150 watt ceramic emitters, a couple of porcelin lamp holders, and a two unit rheostat. Marketed as reptile heaters but they are the same idea as the hound heater - but substantially less. Cheaper than the worthless mats too.

This should work if I can teach the girls to "crawl on their bellies like a reptile". ;)

I have a 3' x 3' heated dog board that a company built for me. It runs on 120v and can be hooked to a rheostat for optimum doggy pleasure.

I dont need this any more. If you can get it to wy. its your for the freight cost.

Its a 1" thick board with a heating element built in it.

our other dog would stay on that board all day long :-laf
