hello all this is my first post and i have a towing question. i have a 25' 5th wheel that i tow. the truck pulls with no problem but when i am on the highway at 65MPH it seems the truck starts to dog out. i have noticed that when the tach gets up to 2100PRMs i start to loose alot of power. is this normal for these motors

Welcome to the board, No this is not normal for these motors, 2100rpm is when mine begins to pull like a frieght train. You need to fill in your signiture (in your user panel) So we know what type of set up you have, Year, modifications, etc.

When I bought my 97, mine started to power out like you said. My problem was the fuel filter. When I pulled it out it was so dirty you couldn't even see the cleats. Also check for leaks in the fuel lines. If you have an automatic, it might be slipping at the higher power levels it takes to travel at higher speeds.

if you have stock governor springs in your fuel pump than this is normal. your truck stock will start to defuel around 2100 rpm. a 3k governor spring kit will allow your pump to fuel up to 3k rpm before it starts defueling.
