Putting the 3rd gen track bar upgrade on my truck. Got everything torn apart and starting to put new stuff back together. Question is:

The 9/16x3inch bolt that attaches the frame end of the track bar to the bracket is not even close to sliding through the bracket holes or the metal sleeve in the rubber bar bushing. The threads go through but the "shoulder" or the shank of the bolt (just beyond the threads) gets caught pretty good on the bracket and the sleeve. Does this bolt need to be pounded through the bracket and the sleeve or should it slide through easy?

Truck is down until I figure this out. I know hundred of members have done this upgrade so if someone could let me know.

Thanks

I don't remember specifically, but I would think as long as the threads are going through fine, you should be able to tap the bolt in.

Come to think of it, I think we had to hit the bolt through with a hammer, and a little bit of grease on the bolt. It's been a while though.

Thanks, thats kinda of what I was thinking too. The threads slide through fine it just when u get to the shank of the bolt. Looks like it is time to get out the 3 lbs fine adjustment hammer!;)

Thanks
